Part 3: Competency-Based Assessment and Evaluation

On completion of the online component of training and the two day skills based workshop participants are required to submit a video or audio recording of a real or simulated supervision session.  Accompanying the submitted recording participants are required to provide a short reflection paper which demonstrates the attainment of the competencies of supervision as outlined by the PsyBA.  Further details of this task are available on enrolment for this component.  A confidential feedback report is provided to the participant regarding the supervision session.

The aim of this assessment task is for the participant to reflect on what they have learnt and how the knowledge and skills will be applied in the role as supervisor of psychologists in the future.

In the recording and accompanying summary report it is expected the participant will be able to demonstrate:

  • analysis and reflection of the provision of supervision
  • appropriate use of questioning
  • appropriate use of clinical examples demonstrating feedback and reflective practice
