Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision Level 1: Supervisor Training
This E-Learning Course provides the opportunity for nursing, allied health and welfare professionals interested in clinical supervision to up-skill and for more experienced clinicians to further develop their competence in setting up and delivering clinical supervision. There is an opportunity to progress to the Level 2 Assessment of Competency course on completion of this Level 1 course.
This fully online course aims to increase confidence and skills in setting up supervision, developing learning goals and establishing a competency based supervision contract. Topics cover how to effectively use feedback and evaluation in supervision and measure supervision efficacy. Participants will develop a solid understanding of the tasks and responsibilities of supervision and become a competent and reflective supervisor. There are 7 self-paced study modules including videos, reflective learning tasks, practical examples, video demonstrations and online readings. The course takes approximately 35 hours of self-directed study to complete, including readings, videos and learning tasks across 7 modules. It is equivalent to 35 hours CPD.

Upon completion of Level 1 Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision (35 CPD points), students have the option to progress to Level 2 Assessment of Supervisor Competency Skills (10 CPD points)
This course is endorsed by the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN), the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and Australian Counselling Association (ACA). However, this is not an ACA/PACFA accredited supervisor course - for those seeking to become an Accredited Supervisor with either ACA or PACFA please refer to our Accredited Supervisor Courses and to the relevant policies on the ACA and PACFA websites. For ACA members, this is a ongoing professional development event and not an ACA-Accredited Training Course in Supervision. You may need to complete additional education to be eligible to become a member of the ACA Supervision College. Please read carefully the ACA Supervision Policy regarding other supervision educational requirements.
Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision Level 2: Assessment of Competency
Upon completion of a Clinical Supervision Services Level 1 Course, students may choose to progress to Level 2 Assessment of Supervisor Competency Skills (10 CPD points).
Prerequisite
The prerequisite for enrolling in Level 2 is successful completion and evidence of a certificate from any one of the following CSS courses. You will be asked to provide your certificate of completion when enrolling.
- Clinical Supervision Services - Fundamentals of Clinical Supervision Level 1
- Clinical Supervision Services - Certificate of Attainment in Clinical Supervision
- Clinical Supervision Services - Competency Based Supervision
Level 2 Course Requirements
Satisfactory completion of Level 2 requires you to submit a recording of a supervision session, in addition to an accompanying written clinical reflection.
This assessment can be an audio or video recording of at least 30-45 minutes duration. You are required to demonstrate supervision using a structured case presentation format and include learning goals for the session. The session can be a simulated or actual supervision session.
After you have completed Level 1 training, you have 3 months to complete your Level 2 Assessment of Supervisor Competency Skills.
A feedback assessment report will be provided once marked, which can take up to 4 weeks. On successful completion you will receive your final Certificate of Supervisor Competency (10 CPD - Continuing Professional Development hours).

Reflective Clinical Supervision in Nursing and Midwifery
This E-Learning Course is designed for nurses and midwives in leadership, education or mentoring roles who are interested in developing and strengthening reflective clinical supervision practice. The course will equip participants with the necessary skills to set up supportive, safe and constructive supervision alliances that foster resilience, self-care and improved clinical outcomes.
This fully online course will increase confidence and skills in setting up and providing effective clinical supervision. Participants will develop a solid understanding of the tasks and responsibilities of supervision and become a competent and reflective supervisor. There are 5 self-paced study modules including videos, learning tasks, practical examples, video demonstrations and online readings. Participants are provided with a comprehensive pack of resources ready to use in supervision.

On Being the Supervisee: Making it work for you
This E-Learning Course will introduce new supervisees to the principles of clinical supervision and ideas about how to get the most out of supervision. The course is divided into two sections:
Module 1: (pre-supervision and preparing for supervision); and
Module 2: (principles and practice of how to use supervision effectively). There are a number of provided readings that you are encouraged to access and also a number of videos and other resources that will demonstrate some of the skills.

Psychology Board Training Part 1: Online Knowledge Assessment
This E-Learning Course is for psychologists only and is Part 1 of the AHPRA approved Supervisor Full Training program for psychologists seeking accreditation as an AHPRA approved supervisor. This course provides psychologists with the fundamental knowledge required of competency based supervision covering the required knowledge to be an approved supervisor of psychologists. The course provides information on the PsyBA supervision guidelines for registration and endorsement and includes information, readings, videos and links to the relevant PsyBA registration guidelines and standards. Psychologists who have held general registration for at least eighteen months in accordance with the requirements of the Psychology Board of Australia are eligible to enrol in this course.
This course may also be undertaken as part of the Full Supervisor Training Package, comprising Parts 1, 2 and 3.
