Core Skills in Family Therapy Practice

Course Price: $550.00

The Core Skills in Family Therapy Course provides the opportunity for health professionals interested in family therapy to upskill and for more experienced clinicians to further develop their competence in systemic family therapy.

The emphasis in the 6 Modules in systemic family therapy is on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant to high-quality family intervention practices.  A strong theoretical framework underpins the 6 Modules in systemic family therapy. This is reflected in the content and format within the short courses.  Students will be introduced to the core ideas and skills of family theory and review the major models of contemporary family therapy.

Course content includes:

  • Using Genograms in Family Therapy
  • Family Assessments
  • Structural Family Therapy and Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Milan Systemic Therapy
  • Bowen Family Systems Theory and Narrative Therapy
  • Contemporary Family Therapy Models.
