Understanding and Responding to Domestic Violence
This online course comprises 4 self-paced online study modules and is suitable for all health and welfare professionals who work with clients experiencing domestic violence, either incidentally or in an ongoing therapeutic setting, who are wanting to deepen their understanding of this complex area. This will include nurses, social workers, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, art therapists, music therapists, clergy and NGO workers.
Course content includes:
- Dynamics of domestic violence
- Impacts on adult and child victims
- Understanding and responding to domestic violence
- Ways of working effectively with adult victims to acknowledge strengths while appreciating risks.
The self-paced study modules including videos, reflective learning tasks and online readings. Participants will develop a solid foundation upon which to build more advanced therapeutic skills. A Certificate of Completion for 10 CPD hours is provided on successful completion of the online assessment task.
