Training
SFTTI offers a range of courses and workshops specializing in systemic family therapy. Courses range from a one year Certificate in Systemic Family Therapy to short workshops. Our courses offer participants an opportunity to advance their professional knowledge, skills and confidence in working with families. Our courses are designed to enhance greater understanding of working with complex presentations and applying systemic ideas in practice in your workplace. Courses are suitable for those with an undergraduate degree (or equivalent) working in counselling, health community or the welfare field.
E-learning - Family Therapy
This E-Learning training is offered as either 6 stand-alone modules or as a discounted course combining all 6 modules. Each module provides a theoretical overview of family therapy practice guidelines and an introduction to contemporary family therapy models. Modules include self-directed learning tasks, readings, quizzes and access to online video examples. Each module is equivalent to 10 CPD hours (total 60 CPD hours for all 6 modules).

Core Skills in Family Therapy Practice
E-Learning - Relationship & Couples Therapy
This online module will provide participants with a solid understanding of a number of different models and approaches to working with couples, review challenges of working with couples and provide ideas and structured exercises to enhance your knowledge and skills in working with couples who present with relationship difficulties. Some of the models introduced in this online course include Emotionally Focused couples therapy (EFT) (Johnson; Greenberg), Collaborative Couples Therapy (Wile), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Discernment Counselling (Doherty). The e-learning course provides a ranges of readings and links to webinars and online teaching videos and self-reflective learning tasks. Specific issues in couple therapy are also addressed with links to relevant readings and resources This online course is equivalent to 10 CPD hours of professional development. On completion of the online course you will receive a Certificate of Completion for 10 hours of study.
Clinical Supervision
Specialist family therapy supervision can be arranged for individuals, groups and teams. Currently supervision is provided to drug and alcohol services, adolescent inpatient and community teams, health services, mental health teams, specialist gambling services, cross cultural services and intensive family services and schools.
