Privacy

CSS is committed to protecting the privacy of any information volunteered by visitors to its website, and students who log into the learning materials.  The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) sets out Privacy Principles which must be observed by organisations such as CSS that collect and hold personal information.  CSS training's rights and obligations with respect to personal information are based on those Privacy Principles.

 

Complaints process

The following process will apply if an individual considers that CSS Training has been involved in a privacy breach of that individual:

1. A written complaint must be forwarded by email to the Director within three months of the time the complainant first becomes aware of the apparent breach.  The complaint must provide specific details of the apparent breach.

2. The Director must make a determination on the complaint within 60 days of receipt of the complaint, and advise the complainant in writing of any actions that need to occur.

3. If the Director determines that there has been a privacy breach, he or she will, upon determination to the complainant, advise relevant CSS Training personnel in writing of any action required in order to remedy the breach.

 

Privacy Principles

1. CSS Training will collect only personal information necessary for its training and/or supervision activities. 

2.  CSS will collect personal information only by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonably intrusive way.

3. CSS will ensure the individual has knowledge of CSS and how to contact it.

4. CSS will ensure that the individual knows the purposes for which the information is collected and what information, is disclosed to AHPRA when results of training are provided.

5.  CSS will collect personal information about an individual from that individual wherever possible.  If an organization is to provide information for registering students, the student will be advised regarding the specifics of the information collected and stored

6. CSS will not without prior consent of an individual use or disclose personal information about that individual other than the primary purposes of collection.

7.  CSS will store all personnel information securely.
