Core Skills in Family Therapy Practice
The Core Skills in Family Therapy Course provides the opportunity for health professionals interested in family therapy to up skill and for more experienced clinicians to further develop their competence in systemic family therapy.
The emphasis in the 6 Modules in systemic family therapy is on the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attitudes that are relevant to high-quality family intervention practices. A strong theoretical framework underpins the 6 Modules in systemic family therapy. This is reflected in the content and format within the short courses. Students will be introduced to the core ideas and skills of family theory and review the major models of contemporary family therapy.
The course is self-paced and will include presentations, video demonstrations, reflective tasks, readings and relevant resources. It is equivalent to 60 CPD hours.
The course is endorsed by The Australian Counselling Association (ACA), The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN), the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and The Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA).
