The course is endorsed by ACMHN, approved as an ACA Approved Supervision Course and endorsed by PACFA to meet the requirements of PACFA’s Supervision Training Standards.

Who is this training for?
 

1. ACA Approved Supervision Course: This course is suitable for counsellors and psychotherapists wishing to become ACA Recognised Supervisors or ACA Registered Supervisors with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).

ACA Registered Supervisor – is an ACA Member who is a member of the ACA College of Supervisors
ACA Recognised Supervisor – is a non-ACA member who is a counsellor who has completed an approved course but is not eligible to join the ACA College of Supervisors.
 Refer to ACA for ACA membership and supervisor requirements.

 

2. PACFA Accredited Supervisor Course: This course is suitable for counsellors and psychotherapists wishing to become PACFA Accredited Supervisors with the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).  

Applicants are required to have a minimum of 5 years post training experience as a qualified psychotherapist or counsellor, with a minimum of 3 years as a PACFA Clinical Registrant or 3 years as a member of another comparable Professional Association at an equivalent membership level. Refer to PACFA for PACFA membership and supervisor requirements prior to enrolling.
 

3. Applicants intending to seek Supervisor Accreditation with both ACA and PACFA are advised to enrol in the PACFA Accredited Supervisor Training Course, as this program meets the supervisor training requirements of both organisations.
 
4. Other practitioners including Social Workers, Art Therapists, Occupational Therapists and specialist mental health workers are also welcome to attend this course who are not eligible for either the ACA or PACFA pathways. On successful completion, participants receive a Certificate of Assessed Supervisor Skills.
