SUPERVISOR TRAINING
Pathway 1: Stand-alone Supervisor Training
2-day stand-alone "Competency Based Supervision Course"

This popular 2-day course will provide you with fundamental skills in conducting clinical supervision. The course provides participants with a thorough understanding of the principles and practice of effective clinical supervision. You will learn about contemporary theories of competency based supervision and learn how to set up, manage and evaluate both individual and group supervision contexts incorporating best practice standards and reflective practice. Comprehensive course notes are provided electronically, including references, PowerPoint presentations and a Supervision Resources Handbook. This course has been updated with new course resources and handouts.

Pathway 2: ACA Accredited Supervisor Training
3-day "Accredited Supervisor Course" (ACA) plus digital supervision pre-workshop workbook

This 3-day course is for counsellors, psychologists, social workers and allied health professional seeking to be credentialed as an Accredited Supervisor with the Australian Counselling Association. The course covers the fundamental knowledge, skills and tools for setting up, managing and evaluating best practice competency-based supervision. Topics include establishing learning goals, contract setting, how to apply reflective practice in supervision and skills in providing effective feedback and evaluation. A comprehensive digital Supervision Workbook provides 35 hours of self-paced study prior to the 3-day workshop.
Certificate provided: Successful completion of the pre-workshop digital workbook and the 3-day workshop provides participants with the Clinical Supervision Services Certificate of Attainment in Professional Supervision. This Australian Counselling Association (ACA) accredited training allows participants to apply to ACA for accreditation as an ACA Accredited Supervisor. Applicants must contact Australian Counselling Association (ACA) directly regarding ACA accreditation criteria.

Pathway 3: AHPRA Accredited Supervisor Training

This AHPRA approved course enables psychologists to apply for AHPRA approved clinical supervisor accreditation effective for 5 years.
The 3 components of training include:
Part 1: Online theory Knowledge Assessment (online self-paced study - must be completed prior to workshop)
Part 2: 2-day workshop (face to face skills-based workshop)
Part 3: Video competency-based assessment submission (due within 6 months of workshop dates)
Certificate provided: For psychologists applying for Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Accredited Supervisor Accreditation: On successful completion of Part 1 (Online Knowledge Assessment), Part 2 (two-day workshop) and Part 3 (Assessment of Competency), participants will be issued a certificate of completion which needs to be submitted to the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) with the Application to apply for Board-approved supervisor status – ABAS-76 form (available from the Board’s website). This certificate needs to be submitted with Certificate 1 (online course) and Certificate 3 (Assessment of Competency). Once all three components are successfully completed participants will then receive 5 years accreditation as an approved supervisor. Applicants wishing to apply for AHPRA Supervisor Accreditation should familiarise themselves with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia criteria for becoming a supervisor prior to enrolling in this course.

SUPERVISOR MASTER CLASS
Supervision of Supervision: 1-day workshop "Supervision of Supervision" Master Class
Date: 30 September 2022, 9.00am-4.30pm SGT (Singapore General Time)

This AHPRA approved Master Class is open to all health professionals (Psychologists, Allied Health and Counsellors) who have already undertaken supervision training and who are in a position to supervise others who provide supervision. It will benefit both clinicians and team leaders/managers who wish to review and evaluate their supervision practice. The workshop will provide opportunities to discuss supervision scenarios in the workplace and how to provide feedback and evaluation. Supervisors will discuss examples of their supervision and ‘stuck points’/dilemmas for review and reflection. In the final part of the day, supervisors will be offered a framework for how to conduct ‘Supervision of Supervision’ sessions. AHPRA registered psychologists who wish to maintain their supervisor endorsement can undertake this course and receive a further 5 years PsyBA supervisor accreditation. Applicants wishing to apply for AHPRA Supervisor Accreditation should familiarise themselves with the AHPRA Psychology Board of Australia criteria for becoming a supervisor prior to enrolling in this course.
